Phelps Lane: where the wealthy lived and fished

The 14- room French-style mansion which sits on Phelps Lane today was built in 1942 as the summer home of Businessman David Schnur (1882-1948). Schnur's mansion sits on the land where the mansion of entrepreneur and politician Royal Phelps (1809-1884) once stood.

Babylon Village Beautification

This story contains a video Thousands came out to attend the annual Country Fair in Babylon Sun. Sept. 9, sponsored by the Babylon Beautification Society and the Village of Babylon. Always a treat, this year was no exception. “I just love the vendors they have this year,” said one fairgoer. “It just seems as if they have a lot more handmade crafts and unique items.”
