Two community groups get a little help from the state in fighting drug abuse
It is, said NYS Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre, about saving lives.
The Lindenhurst lawmaker was joined by S.C. Exec. Steve Bellone at Lindenhurst High School today to announce state funding to two local groups battling the heroin and opioid epidemics in their communities.
Lindenhurst and Copiague Community Cares coalitions each received $30,000.
“I want to work with both coalitions to find a resolution so we can help change and save lives,’ said Jean-Pierre. “The most important thing is prevention and saving lives.”
